Lost Content – Botticelli’s Erotic Paintings

“I think sex is bad!” said the religious man and prophet Girolamo Savonarola and banned erotic (nude) paintings and novels, because of his orders the paintings and writings from Italy’s precious Renaissance were entirely burnt up.

They say Boticelli, who drew the famous “Birth of Venus”, was brainwashed, and threw most of his own early work into the fires himself.
