Kyoto-dialect sounds good!
Portugal is a country that has deep ties with Japan and I’d like to make them an interesting character.
I’d like them to interact with Spain of course, but with Italy and England as well.
■The Dialect Requests that have come for Portugal.
Kyoto-dialect: Probably the most popular. Kyoto-dialect changes with the person’s job so I need to study up on that.
Kobe-dialect: ~shitou(~wanna) is the cute part of Kobe-dialect. It’s a harbour city which suits that character and may be cute. I’ve adored Kobe words since I read the manga “Living in Kobe” a long time ago.
Hakata-dialect: It’s a request I’ve received from quite a long time ago, but it’s known as the dialect which sounds the cutest when used by girls. Will it be the appearance of Hetalia’s first Kyuushuu-dialect speaking character!?
Other dialect requests
Hiroshima-dialect: It’s always Yakuza(gangster)-esque characters = Hiroshima-dialect, so I was wondering how about an ennui Hiroshima-dialect character. In my opinion it’ll be a great character.
Inaba-dialect: Dialect from Tottori prefecture’s Inaba district. It’s a bit like the Touhoku(northern-eastern) dialect and it’s cute so it was recommended.
Ikii-dialect: There was a request to spread the distinctive Ikii-dialect. Is it destiny calling me to go to the district and study the dialect.

When Denmark finally appears in the manga, his introduction scene might come off as overbearing.

I had all the Taiwan story bits I’ve collected checked over by someone who’s an well acquainted with Taiwanese culture.

Looks somewhere around 22. He’s a young man who looks good in white, and has a refreshing air about him.
He starts his sentences with Um/Hm and ends with polite, formal speech.

Sorry, it’s taken me a while to get to typesetting these.
On the Estonia and Finland one, I know the Japanese on the left is “cellphone”, but I’m not sure how to translate Finland’s word. Looks like それ? But I know それ(that) doesn’t really fit the context. Wondering if it’s more a “heave-ho” sort of sound?
Also, looking at the Toto pic, I think that mysterious kanji may be a strange 奴. Guessing too since the beneath text translation lists Toto as male, though that’s not listed in the original text.
That’s what I thought too. “Heave-ho” would work!
I based it off of how he made notes for the other animals, the majority of which he noted their species.
Though looking at the cursive forms of both kanji, they both look similar to what Himaruya wrote, so it could be either/or.
I’m leaning toward 象 even though he uses it again in the description (though he also uses ふわふわしい again)
I think if he wanted to refer to Toto as male, 男の子 or 男性 would be more appropriate.
I think it would be odd to use 奴 in this context.

I went back through the names list, because I noticed some had been removed. It’s only the ツーツィア that’s still a mystery. What a crazy post.
I believe Tutsia is the best way to write it, though I haven’t heard it as a name.
I asked my German teacher about it and, while she hasn’t heard of it either, she thinks it’s a nickname.

The portuguese language (pretty much as it is today) celebrated 800 years (almost as old as the country!) this summer! So if you have any doubts on who imports whose words- I think the older ones tend to be adopted by others. Barroque for example is a portuguese word. The japanese words of pan, tabaco, arigato and etc come from the portuguese. The country Cameloon means Camarões (shrimps) in portuguese and recieved that name because the portuguese found a river full of shrimps in there. The Red Sea comes from ”Mar Roxo” in portuguese that the french adopted for ”Mer Rouge” (rouge = red) because they cant say ”roxo” so it became the Red Sea. 😉 Hope that helped clarifying
